E & N Hughes was born in the winter of 1975 in Monroe Wisconsin. It began with two single owners Edward and Nancy Hughes. The business focus was towards municipal work in underground utilities such as water, sewer and storm sewer. In the following years their three boys Paul, Terry, and Todd grew the business in both the municipal sector and private sector, as well as aggregates. In 1989 the family bought a sand and gravel pit to serve the Beloit WI area as well as northern Illinois, which formed into another business called PENTT. Today PENTT currently runs a sand and gravel pit in the Beloit area as well as a limestone quarry in the Monroe area. E & N Hughes and PENTT have both grown in the last ten years with the third generation of owners continuing on with the family business (Dale, Martin, Ryan, and Joe). Today E & N Hughes is made up of a young and experienced work force ready to help you with your construction needs.
